Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, announced that his team is working to broker a peace agreement between Algeria and Morocco within 60 days.

In a televised interview, Witkoff said the effort has support from Jared Kushner, adding that “people want peace more than ever.”

Trump’s Africa adviser previously reaffirmed Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara, hinting that Washington plans to open a consulate in the disputed region soon.
