Trump Nominates Kevin Warsh as Federal Reserve Chair

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday he has nominated economist Kevin Warsh to serve as chair of the Federal Reserve.

“I am pleased to announce my nomination of Kevin Warsh as Chairman of the Federal Reserve,” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform.

Trump said Warsh is currently a senior economist at the Hoover Institution and a lecturer at Stanford Graduate School of Business.

He added that Warsh studied at Stanford University and Harvard Law School, and has conducted extensive research in economics and finance.

Trump also noted that Warsh was the youngest member of the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors, serving from 2006 to 2011 after being appointed at the age of 35.
