According to Axios, a White House envoy presented Hamas last week with a new proposal, conveyed through an Israeli peace activist, that includes a comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza and a large-scale prisoner swap.

Under the plan, all 48 remaining hostages in Gaza would be released in exchange for 2,500–3,000 Palestinian prisoners, including hundreds serving life sentences.

The proposal also cancels plans to occupy Gaza City, keeping Israeli forces outside the city limits, while launching immediate negotiations on ending the war.

These talks would address Israeli demands for Hamas disarmament and Hamas’s demand for a full withdrawal.

President Trump vowed to personally oversee the initiative, stressing that the ceasefire would remain in place as long as negotiations continue.
