U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday that he spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as part of ongoing efforts to end the war in Gaza.

Speaking to reporters in the White House, Trump added that discussions had also involved “all the leaders in the Middle East, who are wonderful people,” and expressed optimism that a ceasefire agreement in Gaza is “very close,” potentially paving the way for broader peace in the region, according to AFP.
