U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday he had approved plans to launch a new class of warships that would include what he described as the largest vessel ever built.
Speaking at a news conference in Florida, Trump said the plan called for the construction of two “entirely new” warships that would be stronger, larger and “100 times faster” than any previous battleship, adding that one would be the biggest ship in history.
He also said the United States is currently building 15 submarines and three aircraft carriers.
