Trump Signs Order Raising Work Visa Fees for Companies to $100,000

U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Saturday raising annual work visa fees for companies from $1,000 to $100,000.

Speaking at the Oval Office, Trump said the move is designed to ensure the U.S. attracts and retains “great workers,” particularly in the technology sector. “We’ll be able to keep people who are highly productive in our country, and in many cases, companies will pay a lot of money for that,” he added.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said the new fee structure would prevent large corporations from training foreign workers at low costs, stressing that the program overhaul is aimed at reshaping the labor market.
