U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he will visit China in April, while Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to visit the United States before the end of 2026.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said he looks forward to meeting his Chinese counterpart, stating: “I look forward to seeing President Xi. I have always had a great relationship with the Chinese president.”

Trump noted that bilateral relations were strained during the COVID-19 pandemic but have significantly improved since, adding that China is now purchasing large quantities of U.S. soybeans—a development he described as beneficial for American farmers.
