US President Donald Trump warned Iran that it would face a “very strong strike” from the United States if more protesters are killed during the ongoing demonstrations, which have continued for two weeks amid worsening living conditions.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said Washington was closely monitoring the situation, adding: “If they start killing people like they did in the past, I think they will receive a very strong strike from the United States.”
Protests have spread across several Iranian cities over the past two weeks, further heightening tensions between Tehran and Washington.
