U.S. President Donald Trump warned that Israel could lose American backing if it attempts to annex the occupied West Bank, in an interview with Time magazine conducted on October 15 and published Thursday.

Trump stated: “That will not happen. It will not happen because I made a pledge to the Arab countries. It cannot be done now,” according to AFP.

He added that any move to annex the territory would result in Israel losing full U.S. support, highlighting his firm stance on the issue.
