Tunisia defeated by Syria, historic win for Palestine in Arab Cup

Tunisia lost its opening match in the Arab Cup against Syria 1–0, with Omar Khribin scoring in the 48th minute at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Doha.

In a major upset, Palestine achieved a historic victory over host nation Qatar with a last-minute own goal by Sultan Al-Buraik in 90+5.

Palestinian players celebrated a landmark win that placed them at the top of the group alongside Syria, while Tunisia will face Palestine in the second round and Qatar will play Syria.
