Tunisia Receives C-130 Military Transport Aircraft from the United States

Tunisia announced on Tuesday that it has received a C-130 military transport aircraft from the United States as part of ongoing military cooperation between the two countries.

In a statement, the Tunisian Ministry of National Defense said that Defense Minister Khaled Al-Suhaili oversaw the handover ceremony at Sidi Ahmed Air Base in the northern governorate of Bizerte.

The ceremony was attended by U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for International Affairs Kelly Siebolt, U.S. Ambassador to Tunisia Bill Bazzi, as well as senior military officials from both the Tunisian and American sides.

The ministry noted that the Tunisian Armed Forces had previously received three aircraft of the same type from the United States, as part of efforts to enhance its airlift and operational capabilities.
