The Tunis Afrique Presse agency reported that a Tunisian Court of Appeal on Friday handed down prison sentences ranging from 5 to 45 years to opposition leaders, business figures, and media personalities, convicting them of conspiring against state security.
This case is considered one of the largest politically charged prosecutions in Tunisia in recent decades. It involves around forty defendants who have been on trial since March, about twenty of whom fled abroad.
