Tunisia’s Ahmed Jaouadi claimed his first world title on Wednesday by winning gold in the men’s 800-meter freestyle at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, clocking an impressive 7:36.88 — the third-fastest time ever recorded in the event.
The 20-year-old swimmer, who finished fourth in the Paris Olympics last summer, outpaced a strong field to secure the top podium spot. Germany’s Sven Schwarz took silver with a time of 7:39.96, while his compatriot Lukas Märtens earned bronze, finishing in 7:40.19.
Jaouadi’s victory marks a major milestone for Tunisia in international swimming and signals his emergence as a serious contender on the global stage.
