The Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) announced a mass workers’ rally on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in Mohamed Ali Square, where Secretary-General Noureddine Taboubi will deliver a speech denouncing what he called an “attack on the union’s headquarters, the destruction of social dialogue, and the suspension of negotiations,” as well as government and presidential attempts to curb workers’ rights.

The rally will be followed by a protest march to the Municipal Theatre in Tunis, with unionists and workers participating.
