Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced on Thursday that Turkey will take part in a mission to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
“We hope to join the mission that will oversee the enforcement of the agreement on the ground,” Erdoğan said, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new academic year in Ankara, Erdoğan expressed his “great satisfaction” over the positive developments regarding the ceasefire in Gaza, which resulted from talks held in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh over the past two days.
