Turkish Ship Attacked in Black Sea While Transporting Sunflower Oil

The Turkish Directorate General of Maritime Affairs at the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure reported on Tuesday that the vessel “Midfolga-2” was attacked in international waters of the Black Sea.

According to a post on X (formerly Twitter), the ship was en route to Sinop province in northern Turkey, about 80 miles off the coast, while sailing from Russia to Georgia carrying a shipment of sunflower oil.

The Directorate added that the vessel did not request assistance and that all 13 crew members were safe and in good health, with no injuries reported.
