Two people were killed and three others injured on Thursday in a combined car and stabbing attack outside a Jewish synagogue in Crumpsall, northwest Manchester, the Greater Manchester Police said.
Police posted on the X platform that officers had shot a man believed to be the suspect, noting that his death could not yet be confirmed due to “suspicious items in his possession.” A bomb disposal unit is on the scene, and the three injured victims are reported to be in critical condition.
