U.S. and China Launch Third Round of Trade Talks in Stockholm Amid Push to Extend Truce

The United States and China kicked off a third round of high-level trade talks in Stockholm on Monday, aiming to extend a fragile truce between the world’s two largest economies, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).

The negotiations seek to prolong a 90-day ceasefire agreed during talks in Geneva last May, which halted escalating trade measures that had pushed tariffs to 125% on American goods and 145% on Chinese products.

The renewed dialogue comes amid mounting global pressure to ease trade tensions that have weighed heavily on international markets and supply chains. Diplomats on both sides are expected to explore terms for a new phase of cooperation while navigating ongoing differences over tariffs, subsidies, and market access.
