U.S. Envoy to Visit Middle East for Talks on Gaza Ceasefire and Humanitarian Access

U.S. envoy Steve Whitkoff will travel to the Middle East on Tuesday for talks aimed at finalizing a humanitarian corridor into the Gaza Strip, along with pushing for a new ceasefire agreement, the State Department announced.

Spokesperson Tammy Bruce told reporters that Whitkoff is “heading to the region with strong hopes of advancing a new ceasefire and establishing a humanitarian passage for aid to Gaza,” noting that “both parties have, in principle, agreed to the plan.”

The move comes as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza deepens amid ongoing military operations and soaring civilian casualties. International pressure has mounted to secure safe routes for urgent aid deliveries.
