The United States and Iran are holding a second round of talks in Geneva on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, against a backdrop of rising U.S. military threats toward Tehran.
President Donald Trump has in recent weeks warned of a possible military strike against Iran following a crackdown on protests that erupted in late December 2025 and reportedly resulted in thousands of deaths.
At the same time, Washington has reinforced its military presence in the Middle East, while Tehran has warned of an immediate response to any attack and announced that the Revolutionary Guards had begun military exercises in the Strait of Hormuz.
No official details have yet been released regarding the agenda of the latest round of talks.
