U.S. pressures for peace deal requiring “major concessions” to Russia

The Financial Times revealed that Washington has presented a peace plan to Ukraine requiring major concessions to Russia, including withdrawal from Donetsk, a reduction of the Ukrainian army, and a ban on joining NATO.

President Volodymyr Zelensky was informed of the plan along with a deadline to sign before Thanksgiving — a timetable Kyiv described as “short and insufficient.”

The White House spokesperson affirmed that any agreement must ensure Ukraine’s security and create opportunities for reconstruction, while reintegrating Russia economically.

Zelensky stressed that any agreement must achieve “an honorable peace.”
