The U.S. State Department announced Friday that it has revoked the visa of Colombian President Gustavo Petro, accusing him of engaging in “incitement” during a protest in New York.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, the department said: “Earlier today, Colombian President Gustavo Petro stood on a New York street and urged American soldiers to disobey orders and incited violence.”
The statement added that the decision to revoke his visa was taken “because of his reckless and inflammatory actions,” according to Agence France-Presse.
