On Sunday, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance announced that the United States is working to organize a trilateral meeting between President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This meeting is planned ahead of the anticipated Trump-Putin summit in Alaska scheduled for mid-August.
The initiative comes amid growing European calls to include Ukraine in negotiations aimed at ending the war that began with the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Efforts are underway to unify support behind Kyiv, with indications of a potential deal involving territorial exchanges to resolve the conflict.
This upcoming summit is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future of international relations and the course of the Ukrainian crisis.
