The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence announced on Thursday that the country was targeted by an Iranian attack involving seven ballistic missiles and 131 drones, adding that air defense systems intercepted most of them.
In a statement, the ministry said air defenses detected seven ballistic missiles, six of which were destroyed, while one missile fell داخل the country.
The statement added that air defenses also detected 131 drones, intercepting 125 of them, while six drones fell inside UAE territory.
The ministry said that since the start of what it described as the “blatant Iranian aggression” last Saturday, a total of 196 ballistic missiles have been detected, with 181 destroyed, 13 falling into the sea, and two landing within UAE territory.
It also reported detecting 1,072 Iranian drones, intercepting 1,001 of them, while 71 drones fell داخل the country, in addition to detecting and destroying eight cruise missiles.
According to the ministry, the attacks resulted in the deaths of three people of Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationalities, and injuries to 94 others, including Emirati citizens and other nationalities.
