British police have launched the first AI-powered chatbot to respond to non-urgent online inquiries, a step aimed at reducing pressure on call-handling staff.
The virtual assistant, “Bobbi,” provides instant answers to frequently asked questions without replacing officers or participating in criminal investigations.
A police spokesperson confirmed that this is the first time this type of technology has been used in police work inside the United Kingdom, amid a growing trend toward adopting digital solutions in public services.
