British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will pay an official visit to Turkey on Monday at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a senior Turkish official announced late Sunday.

In a post on the Turkish platform En Sosyal, Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun said the discussions in Ankara will focus on the “strategic partnership” between the two countries, built on a strong alliance, as well as current regional and international developments.

Starmer is also expected to meet senior Turkish officials to explore ways to deepen cooperation in areas including trade, defense, and energy.
