The 30th United Nations Climate Conference (COP30) kicked off on Monday in Belém, Brazil, with participation from over 190 countries and leaders of Indigenous communities. The summit marks three decades since the launch of global climate negotiations, which have made some progress in curbing emissions but have not prevented scientists from warning of severe global warming in the coming decades.
Over a 12-day period, COP30 will provide a global platform for discussing innovative climate solutions. The conference will focus on critical negotiations concerning climate finance, emission reductions, adaptation strategies, and resilience-building in response to environmental crises.
