United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher said on Thursday that UN teams are ready to deploy large-scale aid convoys to save lives in the Gaza Strip.
Fletcher’s remarks came as he welcomed the agreement by Israel and Hamas on the first phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza and facilitate a prisoner exchange.
“Our teams are fully prepared to move trucks on a wide scale and save lives in Gaza,” Fletcher said in a post on X, emphasizing that “aid teams need safe and unhindered access.”
