The U.S. Central Command announced comprehensive airstrikes against Islamic State sites in Syria in response to an attack in December that killed three American soldiers.
CENTCOM said the strikes targeted various ISIS locations but gave no further details.
The Jordanian military confirmed the participation of its air force in the operations as part of counterterrorism efforts to degrade ISIS capabilities and prevent the group from regrouping.
The strikes fall within the framework of the international coalition, which includes several regional members, amid continued activity by ISIS cells in eastern Syria.
