As a fragile ceasefire continues in the Gaza Strip, residents are still facing severe humanitarian conditions amid widespread destruction and a shortage of aid.
UNRWA spokesperson Adnan Abu Hasna told Al Arabiya and Al Hadath on Monday, January 12, 2026, that the agency has been prevented from bringing 6,000 aid trucks into Gaza.
He said the trucks are carrying food supplies sufficient for the Strip for three months, as well as tents and blankets for around 1.3 million Palestinians, noting that the aid remains stuck at Gaza’s crossings.
Abu Hasna also warned that the suspension of operations by 37 international organizations in Gaza would have grave consequences for humanitarian work on the ground, describing the Israeli decision as an attack on the humanitarian system under what he called unacceptable pretexts.
