Average gasoline prices in the United States rose above $4 per gallon on Tuesday, reaching their highest level since 2022 amid ongoing volatility in global energy markets linked to the war involving Iran.
Data from the American Automobile Association (AAA) showed that the average price climbed from $2.98 per gallon before the conflict to about $4.018, marking an increase of nearly 35 percent.
The surge comes as global energy supplies remain unstable and oil prices continue to rise due to escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Investors are increasingly concerned about growing uncertainty, particularly following attacks on energy infrastructure in Iran and Gulf countries, raising fears of broader economic and environmental impacts.
