U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance ruled out the prospect of the United States being drawn into a prolonged war in the Middle East following any potential strike on Iran.
Vance made the remarks in an interview with The Washington Post after a third round of talks between U.S. and Iranian delegations held in Geneva on Thursday.
He said President Donald Trump had not yet decided on the course of action regarding Iran, noting that possible options include military strikes as well as “diplomatic solutions.”
“There is no scenario where we find ourselves in a years-long war in the Middle East with no end,” Vance said of any potential military action.
