Venezuela revokes flight rights of six major international airlines after suspension of services

Venezuela has revoked the operating rights of six major international airlines after they suspended flights to the country following a warning issued by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.

The Venezuelan civil aviation authority withdrew permits from Iberia, TAP, Avianca, LATAM Colombia, Turkish Airlines and Gol, in what Caracas described as the implementation of threats it made earlier this week.

In a statement, the government said the airlines had “joined acts of state terrorism promoted by the United States” by unilaterally halting commercial flights to Venezuela.
