The Venezuelan army announced the destruction of two logistical camps belonging to “Colombian terrorist drug traffickers” in the Amazon region, amid rising tensions with Washington.
President Nicolás Maduro called on the Supreme Court to revoke the citizenship of anyone supporting a foreign invasion, accusing the United States of waging a “hybrid war” against Venezuela.
The move comes amid reports of increased U.S. military activity in the Caribbean and President Donald Trump’s acknowledgment that the CIA was authorized to conduct covert operations inside Venezuelan territory.
