Vietnam’s Ministry of Trade has urged local companies to encourage employees to work from home as part of efforts to conserve fuel amid supply disruptions and rising prices linked to the war with Iran.
In a statement released Tuesday, the Vietnamese government cited a report by the Ministry of Industry and Trade saying that Vietnam has been among the countries most affected by fuel supply disruptions since the start of the US-Israeli war against Iran.
The statement noted that Vietnam relies heavily on energy imports from the Middle East, making it particularly vulnerable to market volatility and rising prices, according to Reuters.
It added that companies should “encourage working from home as much as possible to reduce the need for travel and transportation.”
