The White House said former U.S. President Donald Trump considers the recognition of a Palestinian state “a reward for Hamas,” while informed sources revealed the group sent Trump a personal message offering a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza in exchange for releasing half of the Israeli hostages.

The sources said the letter is with Qatari mediators and is expected to reach Trump this week.

This comes amid ongoing Israeli bombardment and repeated U.S. warnings to Hamas to accept truce proposals.
