The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that 92 attacks have targeted healthcare facilities in Lebanon since February 28, resulting in 53 deaths and 137 injuries.
The figures were shared in a post on X by WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on Monday, who said the attacks struck health facilities, medical equipment, healthcare workers, and medicine warehouses.
Tedros stressed that such actions must not become the “new normal” in Lebanon, warning of their impact on the healthcare system.
He called on the international community to take a firm stance, emphasizing that protecting healthcare services is a global duty and a collective humanitarian responsibility.
