The Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday that an Iranian strike targeted Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, damaging five US Air Force refueling aircraft.
Citing US officials, the newspaper said the aircraft were on the ground at the base when they were hit, resulting in damage but no reported fatalities.
The report did not provide further details about the extent of the damage or the nature of the strike.
There was also no immediate comment from US or Saudi officials regarding the incident.
Prince Sultan Air Base is located in Al-Kharj, southeast of Riyadh, an area that Saudi authorities have said was repeatedly targeted in recent days by missile and drone attacks, which the kingdom’s air defenses intercepted, according to the Saudi Defense Ministry.
