Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, ordered all United Arab Emirates forces to withdraw from Yemeni territory within 24 hours, while declaring a nationwide state of emergency for a period of 90 days starting immediately.

In a televised address, Al-Alimi said the Presidential Council had decided to cancel the joint defense agreement with the United Arab Emirates and impose an air and land blockade on all Yemeni ports and border crossings for 72 hours.

He added that the measures were taken to protect civilians and safeguard the country’s legal sovereignty, following confirmation that two vessels carrying weapons had been shipped from Fujairah to the port of Mukalla.
