Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Washington on Thursday evening to discuss Kyiv’s request for additional air defense systems, he announced on the social media platform X.

Zelensky shared footage of his arrival in the U.S. capital, showing him greeting officials at the airport. He said he would meet representatives of American defense manufacturers “whose effective weapons can certainly strengthen our defenses.”

The Ukrainian leader added that his visit would include talks with U.S. President Donald Trump focused on air defense support, as well as meetings with executives from major American energy companies.
