Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced he will meet U.S. President Donald Trump next week on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Speaking to a group of journalists, Zelensky said the talks will focus on security guarantees in the event of a peace deal with Russia, as well as sanctions that Ukraine is urging Washington to impose on Moscow.

He stressed that Kyiv is seeking stronger commitments from the United States on security and defense, describing the upcoming meeting as crucial for Ukraine’s position in the ongoing conflict.
