Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that a trilateral round of talks between Ukraine and Russia under U.S. auspices is likely to take place in Abu Dhabi in early March.

The announcement followed a meeting in Geneva between Ukrainian and U.S. officials to coordinate positions and discuss reconstruction files.

U.S. mediation faces significant challenges, particularly over territorial issues, despite mounting pressure to push the parties toward a settlement of the war that has been ongoing since 2022.
