An Egyptian archaeological mission has discovered three important tombs belonging to high-ranking officials from the New Kingdom during an excavation campaign in the area of Drah Abu el-Naga on the west bank of Luxor.
A source from the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities confirmed that excavation work at the site is ongoing, and the identities of the tomb owners, who were prominent religious figures during the “Ramesside” period, have been established.
The source also indicated that the coming months are expected to bring significant surprises in archaeological discoveries in the south of the country, with predictions that other missions will uncover remarkable finds.
