Yemen: Houthis Confirm Death of Their Prime Minister and Several Ministers in Latest Israeli Airstrike

The Houthi movement announced Saturday that the Prime Minister of its government in Sana’a, Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahwi, along with several ministers, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Yemeni capital last Thursday.

The group confirmed that Mohammed Ahmed Maftah has been appointed as acting prime minister.

The Israeli army had confirmed carrying out a “precise strike” targeting a military site hosting senior Houthi leaders, including Chief of Staff Mohammed al-Ghamari and Defense Minister Mohammed al-Atefi.

In response, al-Ghamari vowed that the strikes “will not go unpunished,” stressing that the Houthis will continue to support Gaza despite the losses and sacrifices.
