Israel’s Arab Joint List announced its intention to recommend Yashar party leader Gadi Eisenkot to form the next government, potentially increasing his support to 67 recommendations, according to Yedioth Ahronoth.
The list said it would formally communicate its decision to President Isaac Herzog, explaining that its aim was to prevent Benjamin Netanyahu and his government from returning to power.
Channel 12 also reported that Mansour Abbas and his United Arab List party had recommended Eisenkot.
Herzog previously announced that he would reveal on Sunday which candidate would be tasked with forming the next government.
