Thousands of Syrians gathered in the southern city of Daraa on Friday to protest what they described as escalating Israeli violations in Daraa and Quneitra governorates.
Demonstrators assembled in March 18 Square, carrying banners demanding an end to military incursions, gunfire, arrests, the destruction of farmland, and attacks on residents’ property.
Participants also chanted slogans condemning the reported violations and expressing opposition to continued Israeli military activity in southern Syria.
Adnan al-Masalmeh, a member of the Syrian People’s Assembly representing Daraa, said the reported actions were uniting Syrians, stressing that the issue of southern Syria extended beyond the borders of a single governorate.
The demonstration followed reports that a young man with disabilities had been killed by Israeli forces two days earlier during an incursion into the village of Jamla.
