Sudan: RSF Accused of Targeting Public Facilities in North Kordofan

The government of Sudan’s North Kordofan State accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of launching drone attacks against public service facilities and fuel stations in the cities of Al-Rahad and Umm Rawaba on Thursday and Friday.

In a statement, the state government alleged that the attacks were intended to terrorize civilians and deprive them of essential services. It did not provide details regarding casualties or material damage.

The government described the targeting of civilian infrastructure as a violation of international humanitarian law and called on the international community and human rights organizations to condemn the attacks.

The allegations come amid continuing clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF in the Kordofan region, as part of the conflict that began in April 2023 and has triggered a widespread humanitarian crisis.
