Democrats reportedly secured control of both chambers of the U.S. Congress following the midterm elections.

According to the figures provided, Democrats won 240 House seats against 147 for Republicans, with 48 districts still undecided.

In the Senate, Democrats reportedly secured 54 seats compared with 44 for Republicans, while results in Alaska and Mississippi remained pending. Their total could reach 56 if they won both races.

The reported outcome would end Republican control of Congress and give Democrats greater power to challenge President Donald Trump’s legislative agenda, oversee his administration, and initiate congressional investigations during the final two years of his term.
