Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Washington must act to prevent renewed warfare, insisting that Tehran had delivered what he called a “strong and rational response” and remained prepared for confrontation.
Speaking before parliament, Ghalibaf warned that another strategic mistake by the United States would trigger a different kind of confrontation, without specifying Iran’s potential response.
His remarks followed a statement attributed to a U.S. official announcing what were described as “defensive” strikes against Iranian positions in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the official, the strikes targeted personnel operating surface-to-air missiles. These military claims have not been independently verified.
