More than 57 million Americans voted early in the congressional midterm elections by Monday, a midterm-voting record, according to the University of Florida’s Election Lab.
The total reached 57,030,406 ballots by midday Eastern Time, including approximately 31.8 million in-person votes and 25.2 million mail ballots, ahead of Tuesday’s election.
In states reporting party registration data, Democrats accounted for 43% of early voters, compared with 31.8% for Republicans.
These figures do not necessarily indicate how voters cast their ballots.
The elections cover all House seats and 35 Senate seats.
